Sharing your Uploaded Digital Photos? Where is the best place to share your digital pictures with friends? I tried Kodak, but only the ones I suppy the emails can see them. They can't share the album with others. Where is the best place that offers you to upload your digital pictures for free to share with others? http://www.flickr.com/ Sounds like I want. But do my friends need to sign in to see my pictures?
Do you still order prints of your photos or keep them on CD/online only? Just wondering if you still order actual prints of your digital camera photos or if you keep more of an online photo album instead? Pros and Cons? If you do order prints, how do you find the room to store them all (albums, photo box, etc) and if you keep them online/CD only, how do you share with those who don't have a computer?

Digital camera $150 - $200 Share your experiences? Can anyone recommend any good cameras in the $150 - $200 range with AA batteries as the primary power source that are currently avaliable? Just sharing any experiences with a particular camera you purchased would be helpful. Commenting on things like - Battery life with Double AA - Shutter lag (capturing sports photos, stuff in flight) - Durability (Not becoming dysfunctional after a slight drop, also errors within the camera's firmware) - Image stabilization (Optical or digital and whether it actually helped you capture a clear photo)
I need to keep my digital photos safe!! Please advise? Okay so here is the deal. I have 100's of digital photos currently uploaded on to my computer. The problem is I'm terrified of having my computer crash or something happening and loosing all of them. I want to have these pictures for a very very long time. I want to be able to share them with my children and grandchildren and so on and so forth just like my parents and grandparents did with me.. only they had hard copies. And of course I don't want to print all of these photos but I want them to be kept safe somewhere. Is online storage the best option? Like a website I can upload them to ? What do all of you do to ensure your photo's safety? I know flickr is an option but there is such a tight limit on how many you can upload. and I don't need all the extra editing options. For right now I just want them the way they are... but somewhere I know they will also be accessible. Of course I would prefer a free site (or other option.. whatever that may be) but I would be willing to pay a reasonable fee.. monthly or yearly or whatever if I knew it was reliable, good place to keep my pictures. Sorry this is so long .. but I need help!! Please =) Thanks!!!!

Would you get offended by other people posting photos of your baby online? I'm wondering what the etiquette is. When you have a baby, obviously lots of friends and relatives take their own photos. And because we're living in such a digital age where photo sharing is everywhere (facebook, myspace, etc) it is hard for people to know where the boundaries lie. I was going to post a really cute photo of my partner with my friend's baby, but then I realized her little bottom was in plain view, so decided against it. How do you feel about other people having power over the use of photos of your child? Now I'm feeling guilty about posting those few that I did, even though the baby was clothed! I felt a bit unsure at the time. I'll definitely ask first in the future.....

Does anyone have a good digital camera photo printer? Any recommendations? I want to buy one of those photo printers that you just hook your digital camera up to it (or the memory card?) and print whichever photos you want but I have no idea which ones are good. I have a Sony Cybershot camera, I don't know if that's important. If you have a digital camera photo printer that is working well for you, I'd really appreciate any sharing of recommendations. :) Thanks

Is there a way to directly transfer digital media from a camera to a USB jump drive without use of a PC/laptop I really don't have money to buy more flash memory for my digital camera and I will soon be taking a multiweek trip overseas where I most certainly will not have any access to a computer and will not be bringing one with me. I'm wondering if there is some easy inexpensive ($20 or less) portable solution for transferring a camera's digital images directly to a USB type storage device or jump drive - ie without the use of a laptop or pc. Unfortunately, I like to keep many of the digital photos I've taken on my flash card permanently 'protected' so I can, via my digital camera's display, share them with friends and relatives. This will probably lead to the memory space on my flashcard dwindling down to probably nothing well before my trip will be over. I'm hoping I can make use of the USB jump drive devices that I already have to store some of the new images that I will be snapping. Thanx for your responses.
where to have wedding guests upload photographs? I want to let my guests upload their digital photographs somewhere so it makes it easy for me to get them all. Like shutterfly or.......? Can I watch video files from a USB Flash Drive on my xbox 360 and if so how and what flash drives work? I have tried my SanDisk Cruzer micro 1.0 GB (FAT 32) and my 360 did not recognize it at all. I just read about the SanDisk Cruzer Crossfire which was designed for consoles. But on the website it says "Now, use it with your latest Xbox 360 game console to store your JPEG images and view them on your TV, play your digital music, and gain access to exclusive gaming content not found anywhere else. With SanDisk, you will be able to take your PC game data, music, video, and photos wherever you go – and share your music and photos from your PC to Xbox 360." I have looked all over the web and some people say yes you can play video off of a USB Drive and others say no video. Can somebody who has actuallly done it share with me how and with what brand of Flash Drive or external USB hard drive that was used. Thank You
Help with Kodak Easy Share digital camera? I have a Kodak Easy Share digital camera model C330. It has worked great for about a year now and all of a sudden I cannot upload the photos onto my computer. When I plug in the USB it says new hardware found, must install.. so I uninstalled the software, and reinstalled it using the CD provided when I bought the camera. Then it says installation complete, please reboot computer to begin using Kodak. So.. I reboot. Then I plug it in again, and the whole process starts over, with the computer telling me I need to install the new hardware. So, I even tried to open Kodak Easy Share without the USB plugged in to see if maybe there was an 'upload' option this way, but when I try to open the folder it says cannot run, please run setup. Does anyone have any other ideas? Has this happened to anyone else? What did you do to fix the problem? Thanks for all your help!!

psp 3000 vs dsi battle? psp3000:Pack includes: PSP-3000 system (Piano Black) AC power cord AC adaptor Battery pack Features: Lighter, slimmer, black PSP All-new vibrant widescreen LCD screen Built-in microphone Play on any TV using video out (cables sold separately) Play games, movies, music and more Everywhere just got better dsi:Some features that will be built into the system and ready to enjoy upon purchase include the Nintendo DSi Camera, Nintendo DSi Sound and Nintendo DSi Shop. The most noticeable feature of the slim Nintendo DSi system is its two cameras – one camera is on the external body, and the second one points at the user when the device is flipped open. As the first truly interactive digital camera in a video game system with 10 different interactive "lenses" that can manipulate your photos, the Nintendo DSi Camera offers an easy way to take and share your photos with family and friends. The cameras also present people with unprecedented ways to interact with their games while giving developers a new tool to devise creative games and experiences. If the touch screen gave Nintendo DS a sense of feel and the microphone allowed it to hear, the two cameras give Nintendo DSi the sense of sight. Another enhanced feature is the Nintendo DSi Sound application, which serves as both an interactive voice recorder and music player that allows users to play with their music while they listen to it. Users can access different audio filters or control the pitch and speed of recorded voice or music files to alter voices or change the tempo of a song. The mic is located between the two screens when the device is flipped open, and there is also a stereo headphone output that lets users listen to music saved on an SD card, even with the screen shut. In the world of software, Nintendo DSi will be the platform for the most relevant and fun on-the-go games and applications. The Nintendo DSiWare application will populate Nintendo DSi with software that can be downloaded using Nintendo DSi Points directly to the portable system, just as WiiWare has with Nintendo's Wii console. Developers big and small are invited to create software that makes use of the properties and functions of the hardware. Nintendo DSiWare games and applications will be available at a range of values, starting at 200 points. In addition to downloadable games, Nintendo DSi is able to play games made specifically for the system and sold at retail. The system can also play most Nintendo DS games, and will have access to a library of more than 850 titles originally made for that system. lf i get to choose this two i will pick psp because psp have alot of fun games . most of the times boys pick psp most of the times girls and age under 8 or 9 will pick ds post your thought thanks!

Digital camera recommendations for a 6 year old kid? My kid shows quite a bit of interest in my camera and photography when I'm taking pics. And I chanced upon this article "Getting your kids started with taking digital photos" at http://www.hp.com/united-states/consumer/digital_photography/take_better_photos/tips/kids-getting-started.html. This got me thinking of buying a kid friendly camera, as described in this article for my kid. I've a top range DSLR and wouldn't prefer to share that with a kid. So you experts out there, can you recommend a digital camera for a kid that is: 1. Suitable for a 6.5 year old 2. Cheap enough (prefer under $100) 3. Meets the recommended guidelines of the article, viz. * Is small, so your child can hold it easily * Has fully automatic settings * Can turn itself off automatically * Is simple to use and has easy options for transferring pictures * Is durable-just in case Recommendations along with your own experience introducing photography to kids would be appreciated. Edit: It'd be a big help if you will also give a price indication, link to find more details, and why you think that model is good for a kid.

What’s the best Kodak digital camera for under $300? I have had my Kodak easy share cx6330 3.1 mega pixel for about 4 years. Its been a great little camera but I think its time for an upgrade. I love the ease in use of the Kodak cameras plus all my other accessories are Kodak, so if possible I would like to stick with a Kodak camera.. Unless I’m expecting to much out of a Kodak?... I own a small clothing company and I need the clearest photos possible to capture details in the designs. My older model just is not cutting it any longer. Recently I’m having problems with really blurry images and pretty bad color accuracy. It works great for just your average photo.. But not so much for getting really crisp details. Some of the specs I’m looking for are excellent clarity and sharpness (decent if not great, image stabilization), especially in low light conditions. Color accuracy is also pretty important. Thanks a million to anyone that can offer any suggestions!!!
Where do I start to get on the right path towards a successful career? I am currently an upcoming Junior (3rd year) in high school, and I think that I have made my decision to pursue a career in photography. Next year I will be taking film and digital photography classes offered at my high school. Ultimately, I just want to know what should I do after that? What classes should I be taking? And what steps do I need to take in order to become successful in what I want to do? Honestly, I do not want to become a "big shot" photographer. My dream--I guess you could say--is to work in lifestyle portraiture (weddings, engagements, new borns, families, etc.) I want to capture life as it is, not posed. There is a local photographer here (working around the Emerald Coast) where Iive that has inspired me, and his shots are just breath taking. Like him and his wife, I want to be able to connect with my clients from their engagements to their newborns and to their family portraits. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to talk to him and find out his experience? I have also heard of the low annual income that this job would bring. Is this true? Please share your thoughts and experiences! Paul Johnson: http://www.pauljohnsonphoto.com/portraits/index2.php My Typical Amatuer Teenage Digital Photography: http://www.flickr.com/photos/nessuhhh/ P.S. I was not sure whether to include this in the career section of the business category or here.

Share with your parents What is Yahoo! Safely Parents? What online activities should I share with my parents? What is a family pledge for online safety? Q: What’s my digital reputation? Your digital reputation is how people see you based on what you post and share online — including blog entries, comments, photos, and social networking profiles. Even people who know you personally — like friends, teachers, or family members — may find out new things about you based on what you post online. That’s why it’s important to keep your digital reputation in good standing. Back To Top -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: How do I get a good digital reputation? Think about what you post or share online. If it’s not something you’d share with everyone from your teachers to your friends, don’t put it out there. This includes inappropriate pictures, negative comments, and extremely personal information about yourself and others. Do you want a college admissions officer to see that “one picture” of you at your friend’s party? What about sharing a revealing photo of you from Halloween with your future boss? Another way to help keep a good digital reputation is to be nice (and pass it on). Be respectful online and treat people the way you’d want to be treated. And remember not to say anything to someone online that you wouldn’t say to their face. Back To Top -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q: How do I choose a good online ID? Since your ID is how the online community will identify you, it’s important to choose one that represents you, but doesn’t give away private information. You don't want strangers to know too much about you just from seeing your ID. For example, if you choose the name "49erfan" as your ID, it will communicate to the world that you are apparently fond of the 49ers. Fine. There's little risk of someone being able to distinguish one fan of butterflies from the millions of others out there in the world. On the other hand, the name "Butterflies4Jane" goes a little further. It provides someone with a name, which they could use as both a conversation starter and to feign a sense of familiarity. Remember to have fun choosing your ID. If it’s an inside joke between you and your friends, that’s fine. But always leave out the following personal information: First and last name Address Phone numbers School name The names of parents and siblings Instead, try one similar to these examples: Colors — shadesofgrey, purplepassion Animals — leapinglizard, liontamer Musicians — rihannarox, jayzbaby Sports — soccerchamp, fieldhockey23 Games — ps3isthebest, yourguitarhero Back To Top -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What should I keep private? Internet conversations let you keep in touch with friends, but keeping those conversations (and your user names/profiles) free of personal information like your password, full name, or even the name of your school is important. It’s also very important to protect your identity by not posting personal information online. Personal details such as last name, address, phone numbers, school name, and date of birth can be used to identify you in real life. It’s also a good idea to learn about the role of websites’ Privacy Policies. You can review the Yahoo! Privacy Policy here. My friend will help to buy me a digital camera in Japan. Please give some advice.? My expense is 800 USD, a little more or less. I've not decided yet on brand name, maybe Canon or Nikon. I just want to take daily-life photos with high quality, especially at night and some landscape photos during vacations. I'd prefer to use an interchangeable lens with hood and high ability to zoom in and out. I also heard about wide conversion lens and tele conversion lens and I need advices on this as well. Thank you for sharing your experience.
My Mom just bought a new computer at Walmart, but she said she can't download songs from itunes & put on a CD? To Any Computer Experts out there: My Mom bought a computer at WalMart for $398.00. It's an emachines model# EL1200-06W Windows XP 256mb: http://www.emachines.com/products/products.html?prod=EL1200-06w (Description: The eMachines® EL1200-06w Desktop is everything you need to complete daily tasks and truly enjoy more of your digital media. The stylish compact features reliable AMD Athlon™ processing, a DVD/CD burner, media card reader and a vivid widescreen 19" LCD. Tackle everyday tasks, e-mail friends, share photos and create an entire media library.) She wanted to download music from American Idol using itunes & she said it doesn't work & she also can't figure out how to put the songs onto a CD. She used to download music from itunes on her old computer which was also an emachines model# T3985 Windows XP 512mb & she had no problem. Now she is upset she gave me her old computer because she thinks she can only download itunes on the old one & she can't do it on the new one. (I know I got a good deal when my sister gave her $100 for the older one & gave it to me for my birthday). Is it possible to download itunes on the emachines model# EL1200-06W? If so, can someone explain in simple terms a detailed description how she can download music from itunes & then burn the songs onto a CD?

Pssst... Digital Diva? Here's my question: What do you do when you need to get a hold of an asker (to correct something you've previously said) but that person doesn't accept IM or email? Digital Diva: I just wanted to correct something I told you in an earlier post, where you selected mine as the best answer. To refresh your memory, that post was: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ArvBzUwveCYFNRRISRSuf.vsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090608145004AA5HEM7&show=7#profile-info-29I8PWrxaa I was mistaken about the cost of getting these magnets printed. I spoke with my local Kinkos rep today and she clarified that it would cost $2 PER MAGNET (oy!) to take the file I created on Microsoft Publisher and turn it into a save-the-date magnet. No discounts for large orders. This is obviously very expensive--- even more expensive than online places where all you have to do is submit your photo&info, and they print off your magnets (www.magnetstreet.com), as they only charge about $1.49 per magnet for an order of 100. I feel bad for giving you the wrong information! My apologies. To make up for it, I wanted to get a hold of you you and share my cost-saving solution: 1) Check out magnetstreet.com for save-the-date designs you like. Inspired by your favorite design, re-created it on Publisher. I included a photo, as I have rights to my pictures. 2) Take the file to Kinkos and have them do a color print of the file on 8.5'' x 11'' of white cardstock. Tell them you want 6 elements per sheet, with each element being 3'' x 4'' in size. It will be two colums, three rows of elements per sheet. So if you need 100 save-the-dates, all you need is 17 sheets of cardstock. (Because each sheet will have 6 elements). 3) Buy these 3'' x 4'' self-adhesive magnets: http://www.lyt.com/servlet/the-20-mil-3-x-4-and-4-x-4-Self-dsh-Adhesive-Magnet/Categories. They come in quantities of 25 or 100 based on how many you need. 4) Take your sheets of cardstock (after the elements are printed on them by Kinkos) to your local Public Library, Public School, or friend's office. Basically, you're looking for anyplace with a professional paper-cutter (the kind where you pull down on the lever to make cuts). And simply make your own cuts. (Kinkos will charge you per cut, otherwise.) It'll take like... maybe 10 minutes to make your own cuts. 5) Peel off the self-adhesive protective paper on the top of the magnet, and stick the save-the-date cardstock element on the top of each magnet. Voila! Done! Cost for a quantity of 100: --1 sheet of white cardstock w/color print = $1.40 with tax so 17 sheets total x 1.40 = $23.80 --1 pack of 100 self-adhesive 3'' x 4'' magnets = $34.50 $23.80 + $34.40 = $58.60 TOTAL or less than 59 cents per magnet. 59 cents is not so bad for a color save-the-date magnet with a photo included. Especially compared to the $1.49 per magnet (plus tax) most other places charged. About a $100 in savings if you're making a hundred! Hope this helps! Again, my apologies for my earlier mistake. Didn't mean to startle you. Let me try again on the link for the self-adhesive magnets. For some reason, its not connecting: http://www.lyt.com/servlet/the-20-mil-3-x-4-and-4-x-4-Self-dsh-Adhesive-Magnet/Categories You're welcome!

Kodak Easy Share digital photos lost? My memory card was inserted in computer and no pictures were saved. When put back in camera, message says needs to be re-formatted and in doing so all info on card will be lost. Is info still on card? Is it "somewhere" on computer, and if yes to any, how do I recover our precious Disney pictures?? Thank you, please talk in layman's terms, not too computerish!!
What is the best format to share 350 digital photos with? Hi- I belong to a club which has been in existence for 30 years. I have about 350 digital photos from all the years and would like to distribute them in some form to club members. (I have photoshop elements 6 & Premiere 4 software). It's too many photos to email, I realize, but is there some other solution? (I'd like to avoid giving each member 6 or 7 discs if possible). Are there any other options here I'm overlooking? And also: if it comes down to putting them on disks, what kind would you recommend? Thanks! Larry W. Phillips (www.larrywphillips.com)
How many digital photos are taken each year? I'm looking for numbers on how many digital photos are produced each year and what happens to these photos: - how many get printed, - how many are uploaded onto photo-sharing sites, - how many are emailed, - how many just stay on a person's harddrive, - what is the most popular activity with digital photos, - and how many just sit there unused?
Where did my digital photos go? I was using a Kodak Easy Share camera for my digital photos. I had downloaded them to the computer to print out later, but now there are a bunch of photos missing. Instead of the photo, there's a blank square with an X through it. It shows the box as being protected, but even when I unprotect it, there is no photo there. This is very upsetting! Where did my photos go?
Have you any digital photos from Coventry Transport Museum? I have just been on an educational school trip to Coventry Transport Museum and taken lots of photos for work with over the next few weeks. However, my digital camera has deleted them all. I have downloaded a few pictures from various websites, including the official one, but wonder if anyone has taken their own photos which they could share with me.
Best practices for taking digital photos of items to be sold on web store? I am hoping some of you saavy folks can give me some advice on best practices when taking digital photos of items for sale to be placed into a web store? What is the best color background to use so it can be easily be removed digitially? What megapixel camera would you recommend? Is there a best resolution? Can you share any tips or tricks you've stumbled across? I appreciate any input, suggestions, ideas etc. My goal is to have a nice clean store, and that starts of course with the presentation of my products. Thanks in advance for any suggestions :-)
Resizing digital photos for web sharing? When I re-size my digital photos only for the purposes of sharing them with friends on the web (i.e. Kodak Gallery, Flickr), do they lose any quality? I assume that for printing purposes you would want to retain as much of the original photo size as possible, but if all I care about is saving time uploading them and reducing the amount of time it takes for the photos to load when friends are viewing the slideshow online, does it matter (from a quality perspective) if I reduce all of the image sizes to 640x480 or 1024x768? My friends won't be printing them, so basically I just want the highest quality but smallest file size just for slideshow viewing purposes. Thanks!
How can I prevent others from seeing my photos on a digital camera? How are they saved? I'll soon have use of a digital camera, but will be sharing the camera with my child who plans to use the camera often with friends. How can I be sure my pictures are not stored on the camera itself, or mixed in with other pictures? I was told I'll need some type of memory card. Are all the photos ONLY saved on those cards(and no where on the camera itself similar to a computer), which means I would simply use a seperate memory card from my child? Thanks p.s. I read that digital cameras, have built in computers, and I know on computes, even when you erase or delete things, they can still be retrieved by someone with enough knowledge. Is that not the same with digital cameras?
Would you like to have a digital photo frame? i get some digital photo frames to sell, and i'm intended to start my business from there since i can fetch them at lower price from factories directly, but i'm still not sure whether it's that popular currently in the world and will people like it in future?just wanna know would you like to buy a digital photo frame if get many photos to share or just put them on the net like flickr ? Appreciate it!
How can i recover deleted photos from my digital camera for free? I have a kodak easy share camera, it doesn't have a memory card so the camera will only hold 10 photos without one. My daughter got ahold of it and deleted the 10 photos that were on there. I really hope that there is a way to recover them without having to pay for any downloads online or purchasing software from a store. No other pictures have been taken since the others were deleted. Does anyone know if i can get them back? Should mention that the pictures were stored in the cameras internal memory.
Does anyone keep their digital photos solely on an online photo storage site? I'm trying to get organized and I feel like it's redundant keeping my photos on my computer and uploading them to an online photo share site. What are some of the drawbacks to consider in keeping them solely on an online site? Ok...after some research and reading responses, I think I have come to a decision...I think I will use Picasa - It looks like something I can organize my photos with on my own computer...and create back-up DVDs with...AND it appears that I can share directly from Picasa w/email...not to mention order prints from various vendors through them as well...Problem solved! Or are there drawbacks there too...if so, please share!
Why is my digital camera's Ni-NH battery is not recharging on the printer dock? I have an old version of the Kodak Easy Share Digital Camera with the printer dock that is supposed to recharge the battery when the camera is docked. The Ni-NH battery that came with the camera is not recharging properly when I place it on the printer/recharging dock. I get only 5 or so photos before the camera shuts off. The indicator light on the dock shows that the battery is fully charged, but the camera always shows the battery as drained. Any suggestions? Or is it time to replace the rechargeable battery? If so, I thought that the whole point of being rechargeable is so that you don't need to replace them?!?
how to convert 35 mm photo film to digital images or jpeg? I have a lot of old negatives which i want to convert to digital images, so i can burn them to a dvd or upload to a photo sharing website. How can i do this ?. Are there any facilities in Mumbai, India to do this, and how much does it cost
Questions about photo sharing from digital cameras? I just got a digital camera and since I'm new to using this technology, I have some questions: 1. What are some photo sharing sites? I know about Flickr and Picasaweb. What is better? What are some others? 2. WIll my photos at some point deleted? This is the only thing I will miss about print photography and the old-fashioned family albums :-) I don't want to lose my photas ;-) 3. Can I upload photos to more than one site? I have both MySpace and Facebook and a blogspot.com page. If I get a page on Flickr, Picasaweb or another photo-sharing site, can I link it to MySpace or Facebook? Anything else you think I should know? I'd love to get any help I can. Thanks
Help with a poster of digital photos.? Several years ago I made a poster using Kodak's Easy Share website that was 4 rows of 3 photos of her favorite national park. Now my sister wants to do something similar for her mother in law but Kodak doesn't off it anymore. Any idea on other sites or places I can have that done?
What is the best website for sharing photos? I haven't really used one before, but I know there are a lot out there. I don't want to pay anything, and I want other people to have the option of buying photos or just printing or saving them. The pictures are in digital form, from my digital camera.
What is the best way to organize and edit photos? I'm wanting to do more with my photos but I am finding it all so time consuming. What is the best way to store my photos, edit them and share them? I currently download the photos from my digital camera onto my computer. Then I edit them on Picnik and then I upload them to Flickr. I find using Adobe Photoshop is too complicated with all of the layers. Any other suggestions?
Is Picasa a good site to store digital photos? I have recently started uploading my digital pictures to Picasa. Although I like the sharing feature this provides, I also like taking advantage of a safe place to backup my pictures. I am uploading them in full resolution so if I lose the pictures on my computer I can access them in their original format. (am I correct about this?) Also, Picasa should be a safe place considering it's part of Google right? (I'm assuming I won't have to worry about Picasa disappearing off the face of the earth in a year or two and taking my photos along with them) Are my observations and predictions correct? Or is there something else I need to know when it comes to keeping my pictures (in their original format/resolution) safe? Thanks!
Upload Digital Photos? Where is the best place to share your digital pictures with friends? I tried Kodak, but only the ones they I suppy the emails can see them. They can't share the album with others. Where is the best place that offers you to upload your digital pictures for free to share with others?
Western Digital 1TB My Book Office Edition? Has anyone used Western Digital 1TB My Book Office Edition. I am planning to purchase one but not sure about the reviews and performance. I don't have firewire and eSATA ports in my laptop so thought of going for office edition. Please share your reviews on performance of this drive. I need a 1TB drive within $300 for storing songs, photos etc.
Digital photography brightness part 2 (with pictures)? I have another question ongoing and I have now added a link to some photos which I uploaded. On my screen monitor they are really dark are they really dark on your monitor? They are just random photos I took yesterday some have filter effects. I would be interested in any commentsas to what to do and if you like the effects?? The site is here http://public.fotki.com/poshrat/brightness_test/ The picture hottie eye has been brightened. I am using a Megxon C480 8 MP camera. I have just put in a new 1GB SD card BUT still when I take pictures they look nice and bright on the camera screen but when I upload to the computer they are darker???? I am using a HP75 monitor and everything is great apart from the fact that I have to increase the brightness on each photo. Is there any test I can do? If I change the brightness to each photo then when I picture share the photos may be too bright for them??? I never use a flash and the pictures are being taken on a bright day.
Compact Digital Camera Help? For my birthday, I got a digital camera. Kind of. You see, my mom thought it would be better to let me find one I like and she'd buy it, so I've been researching. Unfortunately, a couple days of Youtube vids, contradictory statements, and confusing reviews can be a little hard to deal with. Please share your expertise! - It can't be more than $150-ish. A little higher is okay. - 8-10MP - Lots of features and relatively good photo quality. - It has to be compact.... small and portable. - I'm a teenager, so something in a funky color or an ultra chic design? - Nikon or Canon, maybe? I'm open to anything, though. -From an easy to get source, like nikon.com or Walmart. Please give me the pros and cons if you know them! Anything will help, so post away! I don't mind novels (you can probably tell, seeing as I've written one). Thanks so much!
What do you think of my photos? Ok, so all these piks are taken by me using a regular Kodak easy share digital camera. Photography is just a hobby, but I love it. I carry my camera everywhere with me. I have 2 questions. First, what do you think of these pictures I took? http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2rgnzpi&s=4 http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=5we1b7&s=4 http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=ivx0mg&s=4 http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2il0ax4&s=4 http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=30kspyq&s=4 http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2hnz6nk&s=4 And, I was thinking about saving up and buying a better camera. Something like the Canon Rebel. What in your opinion is the best camera? Thanks, just wanted to add that none of these photos are edited (other than the black and white, which was done ON the camera) and it's all the model, haha. My baby cousin.

Photoshop/digital painting question? I would like to hear other artists' opinions regarding the use of photos in their pieces, specifically using Photoshop for digital painting. To narrow down the techniques, I'll share 3 common ones: 1) Painting over photos e.g. painting over a face 2) Cutting and pasting photos to produce a new image 3)Sampling part of a photo to make a custom brush/stamp to paint with. In all techniques mentioned above, the photos are either personal ones or royalty free. Which techniques do you think are ethically acceptable? Do you use any of the aforementioned techniques (and if not, I'd love to hear YOURS.)? If you think it's wrong to use photos in these methods, how is it different from producing a collage the old fashioned way? Personally, I use a little bit of #2 and use #3 intensively. I also employ texture overlays. I'm looking forward to reading your opinions, and sorry if this was a bit long to read!

Should I get my 6 yr old a REAL digital camera or the Kids digital camera? My 6 yr old daughter really wants her own digital camera for Xmass. I have looked into the kids ones, and found that the only acceptable one is the VTech Kidizoom, and even this one has reviews for poor quality photos. This is $50 on sale. I have an opportunity to get her a Real digital camera Canon G3, (used, but in gr8 shape), for the same $50 price. I know this will take Gr8 pics, ones worthy or printing out, or putting on Myspace, or whatever! Obviously I will have to teach her to be careful with it, and Not share it w/friends or her little brother. We have a Sweet Canon camera that my husband and I used, it has been dropped a few times over the years, and aside from a few scratches its held up great. Cant wait to hear all your answers LoL , no my daughter does NOT have a Myspace. I would put her pics on my Myspace page though, so family can see them

how to convert digital photos into video? Hi there. I have a bunch of digital photos from a recent trip overseas. I want to be able to convert those pictures into a video (and possibly add my own music), so that I can share with my friends on youtube. Is there any reputable video creators that will easily allow me to create this video?
Problems with my digital camera? I have a kodak easy share digital camera. Whenever I try and get pictures off it, I seem to lose my connection to the camera. Sometimes I get lucky and actually get the pictures off, but usually it just says it can't see it (My Windows XP camera folder is empty!) or I get far enough to see the pictures (using Microsoft photo editor) but then I lose the connection and can't pull the pictures off. What's the deal here? Is there another program I can use to get my pictures?
looking to upgrade from kodak easy share cx6330 digital camera? currently i have the kodak easy share cx6330 digital camera from 2003 i think, its 3.1 mega pixels, i recently went to a sports event at an arena, i was pretty far away and took about 55 photos, all of them turned out blury or too dark, pretty much just not good at all, a friend of mine went and she also took a bunch of photos and hers turned out so much better. i dont want to spend a lot of money, definatley not more than $1000, but more than $100. PLEASE HELP WITH ANY SUGGESTIONS.
i went to "cvs" store and had digital photos put on a kodak disk. [ cd] when i put the disk in my computor it only alowed me to view a slide slow [ and incomplete at that; no pause, no reverse, no enlargeing , no way out] the disk also coaxed me to sign on to kodak "easy share" [ boy ! thats an oxymoron] 2 hrs later i i still cant manuvure my photos as i do w/ generic disks. w/ my generic cd's all i do is turn on my computor , place the disk in the slot then i can move my picture not only to "slide show" , but also direct "e"mail" , and direct to "photoshop".. i cant do anything w/ these kodak disks.. and also every time i tunr on my computor i get the "easyshare" home page and cant delete it and also cant view on it .. what to do ??? i dont want easy share i just want to be able to put my photos in my computor as w/ my generic disks... i'l never buy another kodak product ..ever again..how do i fix this situation?
Software recommendation for digital slide show? I'm looking for a good software program that will allow me to do a slide show with my digital photos. I'd like to be able to have music in the background and transitions between the pics. I am hoping to be able to burn a cd/dvd to share with friends and family. Does anyone know of such a program that they like?
