How can you organize digital photos if you don't have a computer? We bought a digital camera and photo printer for my in-laws a couple years ago. They do not own a computer and do not want one. They have been able to print photos, but they don't have a way to back them up or organize them into folders. We can do this for them, but I'm wondering if there is another way. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

How can I best organize my digital photos, which I put on the hard drive using various programs.? My computer has Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0, Adobe Album Starter 3, Picasa2, FinePix, HP Image Zone, ArcSoft PhotoImpression 4, and probably others. I've confused myself, but each one seemed an improvement at the time. I like the way Picasa arranges the pix and I like the versatility of Elements. To make things worse, I don't always give file names, so most of them are called DSC something. The instruction manuals seem to be written by aliens from a former planet no longer recognized by our scientists.

How should I organize my digital photos? I have like 6000+ photos stored on my computer. Right now I have them all under a folder called my pictures and then sub folders with names like the zoo, christmas, birthday, umm, yeah.... Shomi 7" Digital Photo Frame - How Do I Organize Photos? I bought the white 7" photo frame as a Christmas present. I uploaded 60 photos which played fine. Then I was asked to upload 40 more. Okay. But there are two small problems: (1) I deleted everything from the memory card then re-added all the photos after renaming them to assure they are all in alphabetical order. Yet the photos will not play in order. Yes, I know the frame has a random play option. It is NOT set on random. (2) One particular photo will not show at all. This was so before I added the second bunch. Yes, it's the correct format, a jpg.

I'm looking for Digital Photo software to organize and rename photos? I'm not looking for editing software, and I can't remember the name of the software that I need. A few years ago, I downloaded a software program that was "smart enough" (AI) to recognize similar photos, among thousands of image files. Also it can rename the files in batches and even change the dates on them if needed. There is so much that this software can do. I have thousands of these photos from the past years, on dozens of DVDs and CDs, and need to put them all on one disk or two disks, without duplicate the file names or duplicate images of different names taking up space and adding confusion. Any help or suggestions is appreciated.
Why did my digital photos print 2 cm smaller than the 10x15 format I selected? I recently got digital photos printed so I can organize them and put them into albums. Well, I selected the 10x15 option and a few days later when I came to pick up the prints, they were actually 10x13. I was wondering if there was anyone who had any idea why this might be?
Looking for ways to organize my huge collection of digital photos.? In addition to all of my digital pictures, I have been scanning in hundreds more of my paper photos from my film camera days. So far I have my pics grouped in folders by subject or location. For the pictures of multiple people, I have them in a "misc" folder and all pix are numbered. I guess I am just looking for ideas I may not have thought of that will allow me to do a search and find the pic I am, looking for. I know this will require me to rename most of the numbered pix to actual titles rather than just numbers. It seems there must be a better way than to name a group pic something like "John-Jenny-Tom-James-Tony-Mike.jpg" especially when there are LOTS of such group pix from various time periods. Is there a way to maybe put the names of all the subjects in the comments section of the pic and have descriptive words in the comments (tag) be searchable? For example have a pic titled "001.jpg" with all the names plus maybe a brief description in the comments under properties. If the word Seaworld (for example) is in the comments, can I do a search for "seaworld" and find that pic even though it is titled "001.jpg"? Anyways hopefully someone understands my question in this gibberish ;) Thanks
What's your best way for organizing your digital photos? Currently I simply have my photos in the original folders off of my cameras. Then I usually add months and years to them so that they are basically in order. I.E. I have a folder for this month and I will name it 2010 08 August. This keeps the photos organized numerically because when they are listed, the oldest ones will be first, 2010 will come before 2011 and the 08 is for the 8th month August and I only add August so it's easier to find by looking at it quickly. So when looking at several months they will be listed like this: 2010 03 March 2010 04 April 2010 05 May This seems to work out ok,but I have so many folders and if I'm looking for a picture that I took of say a tree that looked really great covered in snow,I would have to remember what month,year I took it in, in order to find it. Unless I took the time to name or tag the photo. So if I had one large folder it would be easier to bring up medium icons to find the photo instead of having to go through and open, say every winter month folder. So,believing there's always a better way,I post this question to everyone on Yahoo Answers, what do you think is the best way to organize my photos? BTW I have thousands of pictures...

I need a good Freeware for sorting,organizing,and renaming Digital Photos for a Digital Photo Frame Slideshow? Okay, so I have tried many different file organization and management tools from Cnet (FileRename, RenameIt, and a couple others). They all opened the files in the same order that they display in my folder (sorted by name) and there is no ability to move the pictures around and change up the order before the renaming process. Ultimately what I want is a program in which I can organize my pictures in my own specific order but not by date, name, or any other sort criteria. I have about 200 photos of family members and I want to be able to mix them up and make a slideshow with randomized pictures of my choosing. The other problem is the Digital Photo Frame that I am putting the photos onto only has a "Sort by Name" function, so it plays the files in the filename order. I started manually numbering the photos but that is a chore and you have to do it like this 1, 10, 11, 12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19, 2, 20, 21 etc. Can anyone help me with a program that can do this ?

Do any brands of digital frames include photo organization options? I have purchased and returned three different digital photo frames. They all suffer from the same feature lack - they don't allow for any photo organization. What is the point of having hundreds or thousands of pictures on a flash card in the frame when all they do is cycle through all of them. Just as I would have my physical photos organized into albums, I organize my digital pics into directories and folders (xmas 2005, Cabo trip, dog pics, etc) and I fully expected that these photo frames would allow me to select and display by these groupings. Ideally, they should have the ability of software organizers like Picassa to attach keywords and display across logical groupings by keyword(s) as well. This ability seems so logical that I am confounded every time I try a digital frame and find that it totally lacks this basic function. (Here is a suggestion for the manufacturers - build a unit that is directly compatible with Picassa or other qualilty photo organizer).

Digital Photo Frame question- I organize my pictures on the memory stick on my laptop, displays out of order? on the digital photo frame. I move all the pictures around on the memory stick for the digital photo frame so that they are all in sequence, and then when I go to put it in the digital photo frame it comes up all out of order. On the laptop, Ive tried doing the sorting by date, or by name, but there are more than one camera used with wrong dates and times, and different picture file names, so I have to manually move the pictures. Do you still print out all of your photos or leave them in digital files? how can i print labels for photos? I need to print a list of numbers, preferably on a set of labels, so that i can organize an assortment of photos. Any suggestions on how to organize family history and photos when the older generation is all gone? I have come into many photo's, letters and other documents of historical value. These chronical my family's life and times from around WWI to the present. Some notes are chilling and refer to being caught between two armies locked in combat. Most is probably just mundane junk, but there is a lot to go through. All of the older generation is gone and I feel it a duty to pass on the experiences of my family as best I can to my children and future generations. Unfortunately, my dad threw some stuff out before he died. I remember seeing photos of burned out tanks near bridges, etc. Many photos are in bad shape (and I won't spend a fortune to restore them) so I've gone and had digital reprints made with minor enhancements which should last at least 50 years. Eventually I would like to write it all down and describe as many of the people in the photos as I can and estimate an approximate year taken. I suppose this will take years to do as I have little time and so much material. Eventually, I would like to get it down on a CD format - I hope these last for a century or more. As a kid, I used to hear the 'old ones' talk about the war and their prewar lives and their ultimate journey to America. Unfortunately, most of it went in one ear and out the other, though bits and pieces are coming back. I want to leave this information for future generations, yet fear if I don't do it and something happens to me, then it will be all lost. Sadly, it took me 50 years to realize the importance of my family's survival through two world wars, I wish I had listened better as a kid. Do you have any suggestions, thoughts or words of wisdom?
How to force files to play in a specific order on SD card? Hello, I am setting up a gift, it is a digital photo frame which I am loading with an SD card pre-loaded with photos. I want the reciepient to open the box, plug it in, and see the photos display automatically. However I'm having trouble as I want the photos to play in a specific order but they do not seem to want to play in this way. How do you make a digital camara save you time and money? Looking at a clip of images takes forever to bring up and clean up, then there's the question of comparing "photos" and finally organising them . Time can be saved by processing all photos on a clip at a store, but this hardly makes economic sense. I use the program zoombrowser which came with the camara.
Is there a free software program that will allow me to add photos from my digital camera, and then reorganize? I clean foreclosed homes for a living and i take about 150 photos of each house. First I take all the before photos, then action photos, then after photos. When i get home, i have to load all the pics onto my computer, compress them and email them to my boss. The problem is, that they want them organized into befre/after, before/after, before after. I am able to move them around, but once they are sent, they go bcack to the original order. Most of them (if not all) are not in any kind of albums. They're just everywhere. I would like advice on how to go about organizing everything. Old prints, negatives, and digital. I want to know if I should invest in albums, scrapbooks, computer/online storage, etc. Most likely a combination of these things. Basically, I want them organized and I want them easy to access. I have over ~15K digital photos on my computer. i want a Photo Screensaver that would allow me to delete or adjust photos when i see them on the screen. winxp & google screensaver doesn't do this. if i see a picture of my finger on the screen ... i'd like to be able to press delete to clean up my photos. anyone know of a simple pan & scan photo screensaver that i can do this with?
What's the best way to organize lots of photos using a MacBook and a network harddrive? I recently bought a ReadyNas Duo network hardrive (NAS) which has 500 GB of storage (protected via RAID) with the intent of using it to store my wife's photo library. We've been taking digital photos for 8 years now and have amassed a library of 80 GB (and with a cute 2 year old son, we're acquiring photos at about 2 GB a month) which is far too big for her MacBook Pro's harddrive. My problem is I haven't figured out a way to host the photos on the NAS without creating performance problems. What should I do? What do others with lots of photos do? My requirements: * Store original photos on the NAS (protected by RAID) * Upload the best 10% to Flickr * Ideally use iPhoto (my wife love's it) to view photos on NAS (but don't have to use it to "organize") Thanks! How can i print a list of numbers on labels? I need to print a list of numbers, preferably on a set of labels, so that i can organize an assortment of photos. Is there a way to do this in excel? {i also have print shop 22, open office, ms digital image suite} if not, does anyone know of a free prog. that might do this??? the only way i can figure out is to do each one individually, and that would take for ever and a day {it would be quicker to just use a pen} TIA, ~Star
Thumbnail software. Any good ones to organize? I have so many digital pictures on various Cd's, and now I want to organize them onto a few DVDs. Unfortunately, as with Digital cameras, a lot of the files have the same exact name. I remember a program that could actually organize picture with "Artificial Intelligence". It actually recognized similar and identical photos.

I am having some trouble organizing my pictures on files on my computer.? I know how easy but after I download them I can't find them. Maybe I have too many places to put them? They are everywhere and then if I am in a certain program like Wal-Mart digital photo manager I can't do anything with them. I tried to change all of them into MY PICTURES. It worked really well until I deleted the SHARED FILES and apparently that was not a good idea because I lost them all! Also, if anyone knows What are Thumbs? and are they important? They are everywhere but I can't open them. Sorry, but I am getting so frustrated. I would really appreciate some help.

Which is best photo organization software? I want to organize my digital images (10000+ and growing). I have Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0. I installed it last night. But before I dig more into it and start using it seriously, I want to know if there is any other software which you feel is better than this. I want to use this software only for organization and searching purpose. I am not concered about editing features etc. I can spend no more than $200 on buying this new sofware. I carry several files in semi-organized folders, as follows: Digital Camera files (sorted by year-month) Videos (Safe for Work) Videos (NSFW) (photos follow the same pattern) Junk Folder (all the stuff cluttering My Documents) Crap Folder (all the stuff cluttering my Desktop) Programs (primary software I need to run in any computer) Advanced Programs (my secondary stash of 1337 softwares) Game Files (mods, saves, etc of several games, sorted in folders named after each game) Bookmarks (a single backup file with all my Firefox favorites) iTunes Folder (all my music, old videos and podcasts cramped in one big folder) Also hidden as subfolders: Extreme Crap (a stack of amazing software that are either incompatible or outdated, but I never delete it) Bull s*** (research files and study documents, powerpoint presentations, etc) So what files do you take with you, as opposed to leaving to sink with your ship?
