Do companies exist that will scan all my printed photo albums?

If not, they should. Sure, print shops will scan in individual prints at quite a cost. But are there any companies to whom I can give my photo albums and ask them to convert everything to digital? I want to make digital backups of all my family photos. Specifically, south Wales. Thx.

1. There probably is but why bother... Just go out and buy a scanner if you don't have one then you can put all your pics on disc yourself for free...If you are not sure how to do that...scan them to your PC then onto a disc.. Its easy and if I can do it (which I can) anyone can do it...lol Scanners are not expensive...I got my scanner/printer/copier for £39 and its great for that sort of thing...
2. Yes they do exist. Most Photographers are now able to make copies of your old photos. Just take it to your local Photographer and he will be able to help you. Hope this helps.
3. I think that is something like Kinko's or Office Max may be able to do, I hope that this helps, I think it is very smart of you to get backups created for those precious moments.
4. For the cost of scanning all your albums, you can spend less and get a good quality scanner and do it yourself.
5. I agree with the people who suggest you do it yourself. It really is very easy. If you are going digital then I presume you want them on Cd's. I am not a computer boffin by any means, but if you have a PC then it really is simple. On your computer you will have a programme called CD/DVD recorder - Go to 'record now 'option and follow the simple steps. For the price of a scanner, and a box of discs you can have the lot done and the sense of accomplishment at having done it yourself will be great.If you did not want them on disc, just more prints, then I have scanned and reprinted lots of my old family photo's and it is easy to touch up, fill in scratch marks etc. Good luck to you in South Wales, from me in South Wales!
6. you must be made of money or crackers. its time consuming and costly. what happens if you dont like the way they have been done. set your self up with every night i will put on to disk ten images if anything gos wrong you can only blame yourself rather than trying to get compensation.
