Why do I keep getting random flashes of memories?

Lately I've been getting random flashes of memories from my childhood very frequently even when I'm not thinking about anything related to that memory. And they are not significant memories either, just random stuff like walking down a street or getting into my dad's car etc. Stuff that I'd have never thought I would remember. This has been happening nearly every day. Why?

1. See those things firsthand may cause you to flashback to the past
2. maybe your subconsience is trying to tell you something... are these things linked in any way? Is there anything new happening that makes you uncomfortable? Maybe you are unconciously trying to not let things change from how they used to be... Then again, maybe you are just remembering stuff... I do that sometimes... but my memories usually come in the form of dreams...
3. Did you happen do do any LSD recently? if not, then I have no idea.
