Is there a name and therapy for the occurence of disturbing thoughts as well as the recollection of distrutrbing memories during the day. I won't get into the subject matter but some of the memories are disturbing childhood events and the thoughts generally revolve around sex.

- A good counselor will be able to help you work through these thoughts. As you talk through them you will see that they disturb you less and less each day. Keeping them in causes more harm than good.
- Disturbing events can change us - can mess with our thoughts and feelings and memories and emotions. Somehow these events from childhood invade our identity and shape how we think, how we act now. Yes, there is help for survivors of childhood (sexual) abuse. Therapy is very helpful to your future years, your future attitudes and relationships. It takes a while before the old memories fade into the background. But once you have spoken, calling it what it is, and evil to the core, then you will begin on the road to healing. Therapy is not a fun thing to do - and it is work - but the process is healing to mind and body..........and then you will better be able to control your thoughts, concentrating on your present and future. I know a place that can help. 1-800-NEWLIFE they have counselors nationwide.
